I have to admit, even though there were 800+ entries in this year's Washington Post Peeps Diorama contest, I'm bummed that mine and Emily's did not make it as one of the top 37. Especially since, after looking at the top 37, I'm not sure those are shoe box-sized creations. Seems like some entries may have used the bottom of the box as the "stage" and then cut off the walls on the sides. I was amused, though, that several of these were ideas that we had thought of -- we chose very unwisely, I think, with a pretty popular theme....Also, that was one of the rules of this year - a famous scene, pop culture or otherwise. Since when was a plumber's crack or hanging out in a museum gallery a famous scene?
